Our Client, a large Federal Government Department with offices across Australia are seeking Multiple Product Owners to join a large program of work due to commence on the 1st of July 2024. As part of the Enterprise Solutions and Technology group, the DD business line is responsible for the end-to-end digital experience for individuals, agents, business, and internal contact centre platforms, as well as delivery of key components of the Department's digital agenda. DDS also plays a leading role in delivering key pillars of the Departments Digital Strategy and helping to achieve its aspiration to be fully digitalised by 2030.
The DDS branch consists of approximately 250 people. Eight locations in Australia with most staff located in the Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne offices.
Product Owners work as a link between scrum teams and business stakeholders to define and create the product backlog for teams to deliver system changes. The Project Owner's role is designed to bridge the gap between business and client and scrum team.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting business requirements and feature documentation to user story prioritisation by liaising with stakeholders and aligning delivery, balancing business goals, stakeholder expectations, engagement, and desirability with what can be delivered ensuring alignment to business objectives;
- Translate the vision and ensure the agile teams understand the scope, requirements, business benefits and goals associated with deliverables and work with technology and agile teams to ensure all digital initiatives are contemporary and delivered;
- Collaborate with Agile team members through validating assumptions, understanding program inter-dependencies, brainstorming solutions, and providing direction to ensure smooth product implementation and delivery;
- Participate in agile planning events and work with team members to ensure sequencing is logical and prioritised to deliver value to the customer/end users with input from stakeholders and have responsibility for prioritisation of the team's product backlog;
- Build strategic relationships and work with all internal and external stakeholders to define business needs, user stories, acceptance criteria and priorities with a comprehensive analysis of alternate solutions using best practice methodologies to deliver products and services to required standards;
- Undertake ongoing stakeholder engagement to ensure a detailed understanding of user requirements is always current, identify and manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies where needed;
- Negotiate, engage, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver products and services
