ABOUT THE ROLE
- Carry out preparatory tasks for raw meat processing by deboning, trimming/cutting, removing cartilage/sinew/blood and sorting
- Perform lifting, weighing and the operation of processing machinery, mincer/mixer, lifter, filler, clipper, tumbler, as well as the use of small equipment and temperature/timing instruments, competently and responsibly
- Perform all tasks relating to smallgoods manufacturing including that of mixing/mincing, recipe and spice formulation, filling into casings, linking, clipping, salting/rubbing, spraying, hanging and smoking of meat products, whilst at all time adhering to process flows, recipes and instructions given by the Production Manager
- Assisting in maintaining FIFO (first in first out) of raw products/ingredients/supplies and advise Production Manager of ingredient and/or other supplies of inventory levels for reordering purposes
- Conduct daily cleaning of plant, machinery and small equipment in a hygienic and safe condition, so as to avoid cross contamination of raw food stuffs with ready to eat food stuffs
- Ensure recycling waste management practices are followed at all times
- Conduct and record daily opening and closing procedures within the Production Department when required
- Inspect deliveries on receipt for temperature and quality conformance and complete receival checklist
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and food safety requirements
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a hygienic and safe condition, so as to avoid cross contamination of raw food stuffs with ready to eat food stuffs
- Proactively adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices by carrying out and adhering to all company SOP’s, Policies and Procedures

- Food handling experience - GMP
- Good computer skills to use internal record keeping software
- High standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks
- Able to carry out physical tasks; lifting, moving, pushing of reasonable weight
- Can receive and follow direction
- Ability to work in a team environment, assisting others when needed
