About the role:

A great new opportunity for degree qualified Production Engineer (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical) to join the Prowler Proof team. The Production Engineer is to plan, develop, and coordinate the design, construction, modification, continued performance and maintenance of equipment and machines.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Analyse, plan, design, develop, automate, and implement production methods to manufacture Welded Security Screens.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day shop floor problems pertaining to equipment, tooling, raw material, and design.
• Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Participate in risk assessments and incident investigations to identify and mitigate process safety hazards.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly stations/machine performance reports and summaries.
• Create detailed, accurate, and practical manufacturing and maintenance drawings and specifications.
• Reverse engineering.
• Provide technical support and training to operations personnel to ensure effective implementation of existing and new processes/technologies.
• Collaborate with Engineering Manager, and HSQ Manager in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operating manuals.
• Adherence to company’s Employee Code of Conduct.
• Compliance with regulatory requirements, and workplace health and safety policies.

About you – Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this position the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes are required:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering, machine/product/tool design work or equivalent.
• Full competency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault systems and advanced MS office skills – essential.
• Experience in product/machine design and preparation of technical information.
• Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) knowledge.
• Practical mechanical aptitude with demonstrated hands-on experience.
• A drive for continuous improvement initiatives through scheduling, design, or innovation.
• Mechatronics, including design and commissioning of robotic and other automation systems – preferred.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing – preferred.
• Ability to identify root cause and problem-solving manufacturing issues.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Self-motivated and target oriented.
• High attention to detail and highly organized.
• Experience in working in cross-functional teams, or independently as required.
