Our Polymer plastics extrusion team operate three extrusion lines, and we are seeking an industrial chemical minded individual who is hands on and has a passion for high end products.
Reporting to the Qualityv Manager, this role is based in our manufacturing facility in Wacol, Brisbane.
Primary accountabilities:
- Provide technical guidance and engineering support for our extrusion operations
- Assist in managing technical projects and new Product Development
- Develop initiatives to improve productivity, with environmental and safety awareness
- Testing and Quality Assurance analysis of products
- Undertake and report on Research and Development activities
- Report on any new upcoming technologies
- Compiling reports, strategies and proposals for internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with management, production and distributor staff to achieve strong business growth coupled with customer service
- Ensure the Quality System is adhered to in all aspects
- Facilitate and assist with special projects as required
To be considered you need to be able to demonstrate:
- Strong safety awareness
- Strong Polymer Engineering background will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of plastic manufacture, particularly sheet extrusion & chemistry will be highly regarded
- Familiarisation with developing and proving new products using a stage gate process from concept through to manufacture
- Well-developed customer service experience
- Ability to work within a small team with a variety of projects
- Proficiency with writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively from senior management to machine operators.
