About the Company
Our client is a custom home builder specialising in knock down re-builds across the North Shore and Northern Beaches. Operating for over 10 + years, they are increasingly becoming one of the most reputable builders in the custom building space, building between 50-60 homes a year with average contract values between $1.5M - $3M.
Each home is architecturally designed with a range of Contemporary, Modern and Hampton style designs on offer. Due to growth, this builder is looking to expand their estimating team and is seeking a highly knowledgeable Production Estimator.
About the Role
Working out of a newly refurbished office space, you will work closely with Estimating Manager and the wider estimating team, designers, and construction support team across a portfolio of architecturally designed homes.
This role is extremely technical and we are ideally seeking a candidate with a trade or construction background, in addition to being highly experienced with estimating new homes.
Day to day duties will include:
- Provide accurate pricing for contracts and variations including appropriate margin considerations
- Obtain relevant quotes and pricing for non-standard variations
- Negotiate rates and costs with preferred and non-standard suppliers, sub-contractors and trades
- Produce accurate documentation within budgeted time lines
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of company products and services
- Preparing accurate BOQ's
- Excellent customer service skills, working with supervisors, suppliers, trades, and contractors
- Maintaining trade and supplier relationships
What You Need
- Minimum 5 years in an Estimating role with a custom home or high-end home builder within NSW (commercial or fit-out experience may also be considered)
- Carpentry Trade (or another building trade) is essential to be considered for this role
- Prior experience using Estimating software (i.e. Databuild, BuildSoft, Blue Beam etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
