We are looking to onboard this role at a critical time in the sequencing of a major investment at our farm, as we embark on the commissioning of a new, state-of-the-art Eucalyptus Oil production facility and associated infrastructure at a new site - including the installation of a biomass-fired, automated steam boiler system with 5,000 kg/h capacity – to deliver a substantial increase in our production capacity.
This role will lead FGB’s farm production and processing operations, from harvest and haulage through to processing and supply of steam distilled Eucalyptus Oil to our manufacturing facility in Oakleigh South.
FGB will support the successful candidate with relocation and temporary housing support if required.
A typical day in the life of a Production Manager will see you:
- Working with the Distillery Supervisor and operators to manage and safely operate Distillery equipment and infrastructure,
- Implementing strategies that deliver optimal performance and efficiency to meet KPI's - including quality, safety, yield and compliance to HSE requirements,
- Taking the lead and responsibility for capital upgrades at the distillery by planning, controlling and executing projects from the first idea through to commissioning and training,
- Developing plant and equipment strategies to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and maximising plant availability at best cost,
- Overseeing all plant maintenance activities including supporting the scheduling of maintenance, upkeep of the plant facility and commissioning of new plant and equipment,
- Leading and managing external contractors and service providers to support the operation and maintenance activities,
- Maintaining good cost control over all plant operating expenses, relative to approved budgets.
Ideally, you will:
- Possess significant experience in mechanical and /or electrical engineering related management and leadership roles,
- Experience working with boiler/pressure vessel equipment and applications,
- Be able to demonstrate your experience in successfully managing bulk production processes to deliver outstanding supply and commercial outcomes,
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver capital works projects to time/budget/quality,
- Possess direct experience managing technical / engineering-based teams and external, contract providers to manage and maintenance assets reliably,
- Be tertiary qualified in either Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field,
- Have a strong leadership and communication style that engages your team and others across the business.
