Qualifications:
Candidates should have a polymer engineering/plastic technology or similar qualification, applicable to injection moulding operations. A tertiary education/training in engineering principles and management.
Minimum of 3 years experience in supervisory/managerial position in injection/blow moulding facility.
Job Duties:
- Oversee and manage daily production output to ensure targets are met efficiently.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and product quality.
- Optimise mould guide settings as to achieve optimum machine cycle times.
- Proactively identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Drive best practice training on the shop floor.
- Motivate and lead all production process workers as well as production resources to achieve operational excellence.
- Improve Die change times and production output.
- Analyse mould scrap/reject defects and introduce preventative measures.
- Maintain and introduce process control parameters/indicators as to ensure no deviation/drifting during part manufacturing.
- Conduct tool trials and new part introduction.
- Liaise with customers with regards to supply and product quality.
- Communicate across various levels of the organization and within the supplier base.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with setting up of plastic injection moulding machine required.
- Sound knowledge of plastic injection moulding equipment or plastic blow moulding equipment, ancillaries, plastic resins, additives and moulds
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of production process approval and engineering change requests through control systems i.e. PPAP’s/FMEA’s/ECN’s.
- Knowledge of QS 9001/TS16949 or similar.
