If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a versatile Product Manager to join our international export division.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you’ll be working with our Global team to support our international customers including Homebase, ACE Hardware, City hardware and more. You will harness your ability to think creatively, along with your innate talent for identifying emerging product and colour trends, to influence and refine our product range. You will assist the team in introducing relevant products from our existing range into international markets, while also managing the coordination of new product development and driving innovation initiatives.
As our new Product Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Identify new product opportunities and innovations to bring to market
- Co-ordinate multiple new product development projects.
- Analyse competitor activities, including product offers, pricing and services.
- Research and review relevant standards and legislative requirements which may apply to all products.
- Compile detailed product briefs with specifications, pricing and quality assessments.
- Review manufacturer pricing against profit margins and market expectations
- Prepare presentations for account managers including pricing, features and promotions and attend presentation meetings.
- Attend any Trade Shows or Factory visits as per what is required form the business. Both domestic and international travel may be required.
- The role will be working in several different time zones, hence successful applicant will manage their working times to suit when required.
- Oversee and monitor the performance of our existing product ranges to ensure they comply with quality assurance standards, while also working towards achieving sales and profitability targets.
- Maintain effective communication with the customer to ensure that products meet expectations and demands.
- Complete administrative tasks and manage communications
- Maintain direct communication with our global sales and sourcing offices
- Review email daily to update on daily activities including management communications, sales results and any problems relating to customer service, logistics or accounts. Resolve any difficulties. Action messages daily.
- Liaise with overseas manufacturers as well as our sourcing team on pricing, sourcing availabilities, and lead times etc.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
In his position, you’ll be part of a renowned and trusted Australian company, who supply a range of quality home improvement and DIY products. Reporting directly to the Senior Product Manager, you’ll also collaborate closely with various departments, including Business Management, Inventory, Administration, Marketing and Warehouse teams to help drive the success of the business.
Your role will play an important part in fostering strong relationships with external partners, including Buyers, Category Managers, Merchandising Managers and other customer contacts, as well as with factories, manufacturers and printing houses. This dynamic interaction will be essential to our continued growth and achievement.

- Experience in using integrated computer packages.
- Proficiency in conducting internet research and the capability to develop ideas that will align with macro/ micro trends and consumer behaviour.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to interpret and create product briefs effectively.
- Ability to analyse data and perform GAP analysis.
- Strong questioning and problem-solving skills.
