Reporting into the operations Manager, as the Production Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the entire Production team of 30 staff, we are looking for someone with exceptional people and leadership skills and innovative ideas.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the activities of the production department to ensure operational excellence.
- Ensure ongoing manufacturing cost reductions as a proportion of net sales.
- Control all associated manufacturing costs.
- Develop and implement profit improvement plans.
- Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment to increase efficiency and services of manufacturing operations.
- Manage and monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the manufacture of products.
- Evaluate and adjust available production capacity and planned requirements.
- Develop, communicate and monitor production policies and procedures to ensure that staff comply with administrative policies and procedures, and safety rules.
- Provide timely monthly reports to the respective key internal stakeholders on production performance against agreed internal KPI’s.
- Provide production-based information for daily meetings.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained & repaired.
- Perform other duties as requested by the operations Manager.
- Hands on Production Management experience driving and overseeing the Production Team.
- Steel industry experience preferred
- Ability to monitor, review and address employee's performance and to coach and develop a high-performance work force.
- Experience in providing an efficient and effective operating environment to ensure maximum customer responsiveness and resolution in all matters arising.
- Experience in directing investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
- Experience in liaising and negotiating with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Salary guide $120-130k+ neg aligned with skills and experience.
