About You
You will be an experienced Production Manager, or you may be an experienced 2IC or Production Supervisor wanting to take the next step in your career into a management role to lead the production and maintenance teams at our Edinburgh North productions site.
The Role
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Production Manager will be hands on leading a team of around 50 people including 2 Production Supervisors, and Team Leaders. The role will drive strong manufacturing performance, improved productivity, and efficiencies, along with reduced production costs. Safety will be high on the Agenda.
Other responsibilities include:-
- Monitoring of production performance and KPI’s including Safety, Quality, People and Productivity.
- Fostering of an environment where all production and maintenance employees strive to continually improve their performance and are customer focused
- Building capability in areas that will help to improve the overall performance of individuals and the business, including appropriate continuous improvement practices
- Review of production orders to determine product requirements and scheduled delivery dates to maximize production efficiency
- Forecasting and organisation of labour to achieve operational requirements and budget objectives
- Continuous improvement leading change to deliver ‘operational excellence’ initiatives.
- Implementation/Maintenance of standards – Standard Operation Procedures, Work Instructions, etc.
- Planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance management
- Lead daily production meetings in conjunction with Supervisors and regular toolbox meetings

- A background in manufacturing with experience in a production management role, as a second in charge or as a Production Supervisor
- A collaborative and results focused leadership style with the ability to engage and motivate at all levels
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a ‘big picture’ mindset
- Strong knowledge of operational OH&S and Quality standards and procedures
- Results driven approach with strong decision making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
