We are looking for an experienced and energetic Production Manager - Heavy Fabrication to join our growing organisation.
Specialising in engineering and CAD drafting, large capacity CNC Machining, on-site machining and Heavy Fabrication, Morgan Engineering is at the forefront of innovation and modern machining techniques. Reporting to the Customer Support Manager, you will drive the effective execution of the Heavy Fabrication business. Providing effective leadership and management to support the safe and successful delivery of customers projects on time, on budget and with no quality issues.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead and motivate the team to ensure we have a highly engaged, high performing team working to agreed targets.
- Manage and mentor the fabrication team to ensure efficient safe production of projects to the highest quality.
- Develop production plans, monitor productivity, and provide accurate reports on activities versus targets.
- Identifying & resolving inefficiencies & bottlenecks.
- Ensuring the manufacturing area is always safe and productive with high standard of housekeeping.
- Oversee daily and weekly scheduling for the manufacturing team, including training and development plans for staff.
- Ensuring that all products leaving the workshop conform to the company quality standards.
- Daily liaising with the Operations Supervisors to ensure workflow and production targets are met.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are regularly maintained.
- Foster, maintain and promote the company culture and goals at all times.
- Establishing strong customer relationships within the Industrial and Mining sectors, while maintaining a positive customer experience throughout the sales process, including post-sale.
- Resolving any customer issues, questions or concerns raised by a customer in a timely and professional manner.

About your experience
Our ideal team member would be a trade qualified individual with a background as a Workshop Manager, Project Co-Ordinator or Production Manager. We are looking to speak to people who can demonstrate the following:
- Trade Qualification or Engineering certificate with practical experience to back them up
- Prior experience in heavy industry or Heavy Fabrication is required
- Ability to coordinate multidiscipline activities
- You will be proactive in building and maintain strong relationships with key account contacts and stakeholders, ensuring operational targets are met, and customer expectations are exceeded
Your experience and qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in customer relationship and stakeholder management.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to support and motivate a team, fostering a customer-focused mindset and a professional, “can-do” attitude.
- Experience in large mining machine Heavy Fabrication is highly desirable.
- Current and valid NSW Drivers Licence, and right to work in Australia.
