We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead a team of fabricators who specialise in fabricating a diverse range of heavy vehicle workshop equipment. With a diverse product range from hoists, lifts, and break testing machines, the ideal candidate will enjoy being hands-on and have the ability to impart technical knowledge and motivate the team.
With a key focus on growth, this role will play a pivotal part in onboarding and training new staff as well as documenting processes and procedures. Previous Lean manufacturing or workshop layout experience would also be highly advantageous, as the organisation is experiencing continual growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the sales & estimating team to ensure install dates are met
- Assist in reducing lead times and managing manufacturing costs
- Run toolbox meetings to set KPIs and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the fabrication and design team
- Cross-reference and check specification plans
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement
- Follow up with suppliers & trade contractors as required to minimise delays
- Previous experience working/managing a team in a manufacturing environment
- Natural ability to follow up and motivate a team
- Excellent project management experience and ability to work on multiple projects
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- A commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Willingness to travel to site when required
- Any trade qualifications and high-risk tickets will be highly regarded
