Food/Beverage Production Manager;
Springwater Beverages a South Australian family-owned company employing 20 staff based in the Adelaide hills is seeking a Production Manager’s whose primary objective is to oversee all aspects of Springwater Beverages Production Operations, to ensure efficient and effective production of packaging Springwater while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality and fulfilling production targets.
This encompasses the management of production scheduling, awareness of food safety and quality assurance systems, equipment, facilities, production workforce, and ensuring compliance with company-wide policies on production to uphold the integrity and reputation of our operations.
It is expected the Production Manager will work closely with the production staff (Approx 10 pers) to optimise processes, minimise costs, and support the overall success of the company.
Key Responsibilities;
Production Management:
- Oversee the production of packaging of water including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimisation, to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Liaise with key staff on production timetables and specific job requirements.
- Manage competency of production and warehouse personnel, including induction, performance assessment, skill and competency training. Ensuring that production staff are maintaining production records in line with current quality and traceability product programs.
- Provide situational updates and recommendations during management staff meetings.
Food Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Liaise with key staff to ensure food safety and quality control measures are maintained
Inventory Management:
- Liaise with key staff to ensure that appropriate levels of materials are sufficient to achieve production requirements.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to streamline operations.
- Participate in and contribute to research and development projects relating to product and process developments.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety among employees.
- Liaise with key staff to ensure all production plant and equipment is maintained in a safe and sound working order.
Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Springwater Beverages team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor the production team leader.
- Provide feedback on staff performance to the managing director.
Qualifications;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Food/Beverage production management, preferably in the beverage manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality control standards and procedures, with experience implementing food safety and quality management systems.
- Sound leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment..
Familiar with mechanical engineering principals.
- Proficient Computer Skills
- HACCP and GMP Training (Or prepared to complete if not qualified)
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Forklift licence or ability to obtain licence in future
- Current Police check required
