The Production Manager is responsible for the profitable management and overseeing of all jewellery production from order placement to delivery. You work with initiative and proactivity, with the goal of streamlining and constantly improving our production processes, customer experience and profitability. You will work closely with the Creative Director and the Sales and Operations Manager to assist in leading the production team. You are a key liaison between the sales team and our inhouse jeweller, setter and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities & Duties (include but not limited to):
Manage and oversee all jewellery production from order placement to delivery with a focus on quality of production, cost efficiency and customer experience.
Continually and proactively assess and manage efficiency across the production process with the aim to implement/improve ‘best practice’ systems
As needed, liaise with customers directly throughout the production process to keep them informed and up to date during the process
Liaise with and oversee work and goods from our inhouse workshop and external suppliers to ensure it is to CW standards and supplied/completed within established timeframes.
Have an awareness of and track all urgent and time-sensitive pieces to ensure on-time delivery for clients. Anticipate delays and setbacks where possible to minimise impact to customers
Management of internal databases with a high level of attention to detail.
Quality control - meticulously check every piece at multiple stages throughout the production process to ensure quality levels are being met
Liaise with the design/sales team to streamline and improve production processes and be a liaison between them, the production team and the jewellers. Educate the sales team on production changing details for different designs, limitations of certain designs and any other information they need to sell effectively and honestly
Conduct resize and repair appointments as required and oversee the completion of these works. Liaising with insurance companies regarding repair claims
In conjunction with the Operations Manager oversee monthly / quarterly stock takes and results and pull the stock report data from unleashed at the end of every month.
Monthly reporting on production department results/issues and information form monthly stock report
Manage the day to day job production process by overseeing the Production team and allocating production jobs to all relevant team members. Lead and assist the team to enhance their knowledge and to maximise productivity, improve efficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs
Oversee and Manage stock inventory, incoming and outgoing collection jewellery, inventory spreadsheets, unleashed assemblies, JCS and snippets for all jewellery as well as (oversee production coordinator team members in these areas and allocate these tasks as appropriate)
Resolution of customer/supplier complaints or issues that arise as part of production. (Liaise with the Sales and Operations Manager where applicable for support and/or escalations as needed)
Other ad-hoc Production Manager duties as required - including opening and closing
