Reporting directly to the Production Operations Manager, you will be a high performing individual with the knowledge and skills to run the day to day operations of a production line.
To be successful for the role, you will have the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment whilst ensuring all production targets are achieved. You will be responsible for driving continuous efficiency improvements and possess the skills to effectively coach and mentor your team.
Essential Functions
- Planning, organising and production schedules
- Oversee the production team and monitoring factory performance and KPI’s including Safety, Quality DIFOT, Productivity and Cost Control.
- Provide direction and leadership to the production team
- Desire to lead from the front and drive a culture of continuous improvements
- Human resources Management – Train and develop
- Analyse the production data and take actions or provide recommendations in order to improve efficiencies
- Implementation/Maintenance of standards – Visual Management, Standard Operation Procedures, Work Instructions
- The capability to manage escalations
- Planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance management
- Effective cross functional communication between production, logistics, S&OP
- Ensuring shift supervisors lead their respective shifts appropriately and meet KPI’s
- Allocation of factory labour in line with planned work and process schedules
- Quality control of raw and finished goods
- Management of Raw Materials, WIP and Finished Goods
Skills and Abilities
- 3+ years’ experience in a Production manager role in FMCG environment
- Food Manufacturing experience with short shelf life/daily fresh product
- A proven ability to successfully lead and mentor people
- Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously
- Flexible and ability to think on your feet
- Creative problem solver
- Using structured root cause analysis to resolve issues
- The ability to adapt to our constantly evolving environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent numerical skills
