The role:
Based at our Proserpine Farm and reporting to our Senior Manager - Processing, the Production Manager will manage and co-ordinate the running of the respective Prawn Processing facility and provide direction, assistance and support as required.
What does your week look like?
Leadership and Management: Lead and motivate a team to meet daily production targets, KPI’s and flow of product, personally maintaining all performance, standards and behaviour in keeping with the Code of Conduct;
Leading Safety: Ensure a safety culture of “no job is so important that it cannot be done safely” is in place and at all times comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Escalation of Risk Policy and the 8 Golden Safety Rules
Productivity: Hands on approach to daily functions to assist key production staff achieve targets and ensure production plan targets, set by the Senior Processing Manager, are achieved.
Quality and Customer Service: Ensure quality assurance and customer service outcomes are met through compliance
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with farm and harvest operations to ensure daily production targets are achieved in an efficient manner.
Maintenance: Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to co-ordinate maintenance requirements as required
Continuous Improvement: Contribute and develop improvement plans across your area to ensure efficiencies are met with production targets in focus.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in a management position in a processing environment;
- Ability to be flexible with hours in peak season and strive for process improvement in down season
- Significant experience in delivering operational outcomes and be able to work in a fast paced environment;
- Critical competencies – Leadership, Zero Harm, Quality/Results Orientation, Judgement and Problem Solving;
- Be aware of nationality behaviours, be able to deal with language barriers and drive visibility on the floor.
- FMCG experience would be advantageous with exposure to lean and CI process
- Engineering skills and operational management qualifications would be desirable but proven experience will be considered.
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate maintenance.
