About the Role
As an Assistant Category Manager with Adventure Operations, you will be responsible for assisting in developing and maintaining ranges across key brands and categories. You will help to identify key development opportunities formed from innovation and trends and will assist in driving the development and on time delivery of relevant product ranges across the outdoor brand portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, you will be a key member of the Outdoor Category Team ensuring consistent and accurate communication across to the Brand and Sales teams as well as retail customers.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Assisting the Category team on product development from initial concept, development, testing, production and marketing
- Strong focus on both local ANZ market as well as identifying key international markets for growth
- Assist in delivering product and consumer presentations to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Category and Marketing teams to develop marketing objectives and plans for products and ranges
- Work with Category, Sourcing team and key suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, adequate quality control, on time delivery and other key KPIs
- Assist in ensuring products meet relevant local and international product compliance standards and documentation
- Working with the Commercial Manager to prepare costing to ensure maximum profitability as well as market competitive pricing (Comp analysis)
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams on trade shows and presentations
- Prepare category reporting and provide analysis to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure Sales team are adequately resourced with product information
- Assist in providing product training to Customer Service and Sales teams
- Work closely with the Logistics, Warehouse and Finance teams
About You
As the Assistant Category Manager you will possess:
- Knowledge of the ANZ outdoor recreation and leisure industry
- An engaging communication style and positive influencing skills
- A genuine interest in the outdoor market
- Analytical skills to interpret inventory performance and market trend information
- Knowledge in the use of inventory management systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Experience in undertaking reporting/category analysis
- Willingness to learn and be a key member of a team environment
- This role is available for an immediate start
