As a Plant Operator, you will work as part of a team to operate the plant safely and efficiently. As Geocycle is a small site, you will get to work across all our operations including loading and unloading product, working in the control room, small maintenance tasks and process troubleshooting.
With the work varied and often specialised to our particular plant, given this is a highly hazardous environment - we will provide you with all the training you need to become a valued member of the team.
About the role:
In this role you will be required to:
- Unload bulk tankers to tank transfers
- Load vacuum blending tanks
- Load ISO tanks and wash out
- Operate drum shredders and bulk solids systems
- Dehead plastic IBC units
- Complete general housekeeping and forklift duties
The hours of work for this position are on a rotating roster, Monday to Friday day - 6:00am-2:00pm and then a 10:00am to 6:00pm. (Overtime shifts on Saturday may also be available).
The hourly rate for a level 1 operator is $34.07 p/hour with progression through to a level 4 operator $40.89 p/hour.
About you:
- Previous experience working in an operations role, ideally in the waste treatment or hazardous chemical industry
- Forklift licence (essential)
- Strong safety focus
- Good mechanical aptitude
- A self-starter, who can work autonomously
- Great attention to detail and process troubleshooting/diagnostic abilities
- Basic computer skills ideally with an understanding of Word and Excel
