SalaryWe are looking for a mechanically minded and adaptable person to join our growing CNC team in the role of CNC & Laser Plant Engineer.
In operation for 45+ years, MACRO is a dynamic family-run Australian business specialising in welding + cutting machinery (Fibre Laser and plasma), for the metal fabrication industry.
ROLE
As our Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing installation of CNC laser and plasma equipment
- On-site evaluation of customer workshop/equipment requirements
- Oversee commissioning of new CNC cutting machines
- Performing training on CNC function, programming and software
- Application using CNC machines, testing and demonstration
- Phone / online training and support to clients
- Communication with CNC team and clients
- developing functional processes for the installation and training of CNC laser and plasma cutting systems, including project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and trades people at our clients sites
- establishing efficient work programs by analysing installation projects, to develop standards for labour utilisation
- designing and overseeing mechanical alterations to laser and plasma cutting equipment
- developing programs for manufacturing where multiple material types are required by clients, in view of improving machinery efficiencies
- organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
- establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
- carrying out inspections to ensure optimum performance is maintained
- directing the maintenance and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules
