Reporting to the Production Manager, you will:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to optimise workflow, ensuring timely completion of production goals. Work closely with the Production Team to provide input on production capacities, raw materials, stocks, and yields.
- Collaborate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and delivery schedules in line with the just-in-time model. Manage inventory levels through the ERP system, coordinating stock takes and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, sourcing quotations and negotiating pricing in collaboration with the Production Manager. Oversee the procurement process, including raising and approving purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in enhancing production processes by tracking equipment maintenance, updating production with order status, and providing insights on areas for optimisation.
- Act as a liaison between the production team, support office, and key personnel.
- Conduct analysis of material usage and system BOMs to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of production reports, including target vs. actual production, DIFOT%, yields, and inventory levels. Monitor all jobs daily to ensure timely completion and report any issues to the Production Team.
Here is who we are looking for:
Are you the mastermind we need behind our production success?
- 3 years+ of experience as a Production Planner, preferably in a small to medium-sized manufacturing environment.
- Relevant qualifications in Manufacturing, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management are desirable, as they contribute to a deep understanding of the production process.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of MS Office and experience with demand planning software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics 365, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and technologies.
- Possesses a strong ability to analyse data with precision and interpret it laterally to inform decision-making, optimise production processes, and ensure high-quality planning with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Continuous desire to learn and stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
