You will be working for a high-tech manufacturing company which has been running for just over 20 years and located in western Sydney. They have state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and are going through rapid growth. There is a need for a Production Planner to link the sales and manufacturing team together. You will be working for a fast-paced, dynamic business where no two days are the same.
Your new role
The Production Planner is part of the Operations Team; you will report to the Operations Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with the sales, engineering, supply chain, and production functions within the business. Your goal is to ensure that customer orders are not only fulfilled but also surpassed. Specifically, you will collect sales forecasts, comprehend customer requirements, and oversee the entire order process and create the production schedule in line with customer orders.Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the factory production schedule and communications with Projects team regarding on site dates and flagging any capacity issues.
- Liaising with the production and warehousing team to ensure they are on track for all orders.
- Working with 3rd parties for any products that are manufactured externally and ensuring they achieve the required delivery dates.
- Establishing good relationships with suppliers and being aware of their specialities and strengths
- Assisting production team to ensure cost-effective manufacturing is taking place.
What you'll need to succeed
- Planning experience with SAP or M1 ERP
- It is essential you have been a Production Planner for a manufacturing company. Ideally, you will have experience working for a manufacturing company within the electronics, high-tech, automotive, defence or mining industries.
- Organised person who can work autonomously and work as part of a team.
- Proactive approach to issues and challenges.
- Engineering or trades qualifications
- Good IT skills are required.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
