Inorail are the National distributor for Inoxihp Mining Pumps, SMTScharf rail bound transport/ handling systems specialising in supply and maintenance of longwall pump systems and monorails into the underground coal mining sector. We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team in Rutherford NSW.

THE POSITION

The Production Planner will be a passionate and results driven team member providing production planning and work order management to the Manufacturing Department. 

The overall objective of the role is to ensure all sales orders for new builds, repairs and overhauls are processed and delivered on time to the satisfaction of the Customer.

The successful applicant will be detail orientated and organised individual with a passion for optimising production processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple production operations.
  • Review work scopes, Engineering drawings and identify requirements for manufacture/assembly.
  • Analyse production specifications and plant capacity to determine manufacturing processes and human resource requirements.
  • Schedule workload to ensure production due dates are achieved.
  • Follow company procedures for planning & scheduling and recommend improvements to current methods.
  • Obtain and monitor output information (percentage complete, defects and rework, on-time delivery)
  • Prepare and submit job status reports to Senior Management and Production forums.
  • Address issues when they arise, aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and amend schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Work in conjunction with the Purchasing Team in relation to suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Communicate and follow-up deadlines to all internal departments.
  • Prepare & update Gantt Charts, utilising MS Project.
  • Assist in capturing “as-built” changes if & when required
  • Communicate with all contractors, suppliers & subcontractors to keep planning and manufacturing on target.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Forecast Scheduling to ensure labour availability.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven previous experience in a planning role preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in a mechanical field.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and the ability to problem solve.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making.
  • Fluent spoken English.
  • Australian Residency / Citizenship.
