The Opportunity:
Visy began manufacturing corrugated cardboard boxes in Melbourne, Australia, in 1948 and has grown to become one of the world's leading privately owned packaging, paper and recycling companies. Reporting to the State Operations Manager and based at our Smithfield site, you will be responsible for the scheduling of an advanced manufacturing facility to ensure we meet the needs of our customers.
Key to your success will be the establishment of robust systems and procedures to drive operational efficiency whilst ensuring internal and external customer requirements are met. This is a fast paced, highly dynamic position that will suit a very organised and driven individual that has worked within a manufacturing environment.
The Role:
- Ensuring internal and external customer requirements are met by scheduling the corrugator and converting machines.
- Aligning the corrugator and converting schedules to promote operational efficiencies.
- Review and optimise the work processes and practices by assisting in identifying improvement opportunities.
- Continuously improve paper usage, ensuring trim reduction and waste elimination
- Plan and forecast to ensure adequate stock levels are always maintained.
- Maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere and maintain WHS policies and procedures
What you will bring to the team:
- Prior experience in production planning/scheduling within the manufacturing industry
- Technically savvy with strong computer skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders.
- You will be a forward thinker and have strong time management and organisational skills.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
