The Production Scheduler is a key role requiring a broad set of skills from production scheduling to allocating raw materials to co-ordinating workflows, to managing stakeholder relationships. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day production schedule to ensure efficient and compliant operations in line with our stringent food safety and quality standards.
A bit about the role:
No day will be the same in this busy but satisfying role. Your primary responsibility includes managing and deploying all resources, from stock and raw materials to equipment to labour to ensure that customer outcomes are met.
- Develop, review and manage production schedules and workflows to meet demand
- Review and validate production documentation
- Issuing work orders and work instructions
- Liaise between purchasing and logistics as well as the production team to identify bottlenecks
- Take a hands on approach to problem solving and addressing production issues/delays
A bit about you:
As an experienced Production Planner/Scheduler you understand what it takes to juggle resources and re-prioritise the day to get the work done. You are used to being at the coalface of problem solving by making quick and effective decisions. You understand that accuracy is paramount in compliance – there are no cutting corners here.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a similar purchasing or procurement role
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, preferably Sage
- Experience with handling chemical products and hazardous chemicals
- Knowledge of HACCP and GMP requirements essential.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
