About the role
The company is expanding its Sydney & NSW Operations and are building a brand new precast production facility in Sydney’s South West. This role will play a pivotal part in laying the foundations as well as the supervision of the operating activities of the production unit to achieve planned yields in accordance with the production schedule, safety and quality requirements. You will be expected to supervise a production team of around 8 staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety initiatives, implement safe practices, and serve as a role model.
- Execute health and safety plans, conduct inspections, and oversee safe site access.
- Drive production per the program, adjusting for variables and implementing corrective actions.
- Implement QA procedures, ensure works meet quality standards, and initiate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with quality control and maintenance teams to achieve production goals.
- Supervise staff training, coaching operators in safety, operations, and quality controls.
- Report on production matters, lead briefings, and manage workforce attendance and shift rosters.
- Authorize Hold Points, ensuring compliance with the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
- Lead assurance activities, including hazard reporting and incident investigations.
- Manage subcontractors for maintenance outside of capital projects and inspect trucks for dispatch, including operational quality checks.
Experience
- The successful candidate should possess operational management and/or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for expertise in pre-cast or concrete-related products
- Demonstrating the ability to drive production efficiency and meet planned yields
- Proven ability to coordinate activities with quality control and maintenance teams
