A well-established Food manufacturer requires a leading hand / supervisor for their production facility based in Canterbury.
looking for a skilled Production Supervisor to lead the production team and ensure the smooth operation of the manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience in food production and strong organisational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the production process, from preparation to packaging and distribution, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Managing a production staff of 10-15, including production schedules.
- Collaborate with the operations manager and suppliers to maintain a consistent flow of ingredients and production materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team.
- Adapt to changing production demands particularly during busy periods.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in food Production and if in meat industry is a bonus!
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- To be hands-on, working side-by-side with the production team.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, regulations & quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to address production challenges.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and suppliers.
- Ability to work and run production through high-demand events such as Easter, Christmas, and New Years, etc (excluding public holidays)
Start off as casual for first few months at $35.63 per hour.
Then on a permanent contract: $56,300.00 per year
Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours 6 am till 2 pm
Unlimited visa is required.
