We have an excellent employment opportunity for experienced Open Cut examiners in our expanding business.
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor / OCE at our Castlereagh Coal group. Our operations consist of two small, but dynamic mining operations Invincible Colliery and Cullen Valley Mine. Our surface operations are low strip ratio, utilising excavators and trucks, located 20 kilometres north of Lithgow. The OCE roster is currently 7 on / 7 off, dayshift only. The rostered production shifts are 10.5hours long.
Across the entire operation's stakeholder teams in plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and production, we are looking for those who will deliver to plan, work effectively and collaboratively in delivering an outcome of excellence and assisting us in our innovation.
Reporting to the operations superintendent, the scope of your role will be to guide the mining crew to safely achieve production targets in compliance with all relevant procedures and statutes.

We are looking for someone able to demonstrate, through collaboration, a history of effective leadership and accountability in safely delivering production goals. Your success in the role will be recognisable through your facilitation of the team’s achievement of high-performance targeted metrics in both safety and production.
Duties will include:
- Set and demonstrate a proactive approach to health, safety and environmental standards and ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
- Demonstrate safe behaviours and provide visible safe leadership to team members.
- Ensure that risk management tools and relevant procedures are in place when planning and executing work.
- Comply with Castlereagh Coal policies and procedures.
- Effective utilisation of shift personnel and equipment resources to achieve the mine plan and production targets.
- Conduct mining operations in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Responsible for supervision of all employees and contractors operating in mining areas.
- Ensure all personnel on site are trained and competent for the duties assigned.
- Identify training requirements within crew and facilitate multi skilled crews.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings with production operators.
- Be an active participant in the continuous improvement program.
- Liaise with Maintenance, Technical and other Support Services to establish Production priorities and ensure operations requirements and targets are incorporated into Production design and schedules.
- Adapt with our small dynamic operations, applying forward thinking and sound decision making, liaising with the operations superintendent.

This position is offered on a seven day-dayshift only operations in a very scenic location between the Blue Mountains, Mudgee, and Bathurst.

Mudgee airport flies to Sydney, Newcastle or Cobar, with the close by Dubbo Airport adding the destinations of Brisbane, Melbourne, Broken Hill, Walgett, Bourke & Lightning Ridge.

About you:
- The successful candidate must have a current NSW Open Cut Examiners Practising certificate qualification.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an Open Cut mining production environment.
- Demonstrated experience supervising work groups to positive effect in an Open Cut mining environment.
- Valid NSW Driver's license
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Computer literacy skills
- Strong commitment to safety as a way of life
