THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Coopers Plains, Queensland. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 9 operators, supporting and supervising production activities to ensure that CSR's expectation of safety performance, production quality, customer service, and profit are met.
The position will be on a rotating roster Monday to Friday - day shift (6am - 2pm), afternoon shift (2pm-10pm), and night shift (10pm - 6am). Extra overtime available usually on Saturday day and afternoon shifts, as well as other supervisor coverage.
Your duties include:
- Lead Safety, Health and Environment programs on shift
- Improve operational performance (e.g., quality, scrap, and output)
- Lead cultural change in the factory, including improving the skill levels of direct reports
- Problem solving and root cause analysis
- Implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
- Optimising the use of labour and materials on site
- Communicating with all stakeholders fostering a proactive working culture and high employee morale
Skills & Qualifications:
To be considered for this role you will ideally have:
- Worked in a similar role
- A Technical background with either a tertiary or trade qualification (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical)
- The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
- A solid background working in a similar manufacturing environment
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- A genuine commitment to Health & Safety
- A hands-on attitude, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
