Pacific Meat Sales is a family-owned business operating for over 25 years. Specializing in high-quality meat sales to a domestic and export market. Our focus is on Pork, Beef, and Veal, which are supplied through 5 different brands.
We are recruiting a motivated and dynamic leader to join us as a Production Supervisor at our meat processing and packing facility in Thomastown. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, efficient time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and solid leadership skills. The person will need to have a commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and development of all production staff as required.
Main responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and direct production staff to efficiently meet production requirements
- Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback where required.
- Ensure work performed is in compliance with the company’s quality policy, quality manual, procedures, processes, work instructions, and position descriptions;
- Ensure a safe working environment in line with Work, Health, and Safety (WH&S) standards;
- Build and develop a quality team environment to ensure the company’s overall objectives are achieved;
- Facilitate effective internal communication, including the internal communication channels, areas of improvement, and other related matters;
- Provide an environment where staff are empowered to reach their full personal and professional potential;
- Constantly review and develop company processes to provide premium warehousing whilst ensuring productivity and financial objectives are achieved;
- Managing any queries or issues that arise;
- Addressing any issues and providing solution-based answers to internal management;
- Facilitate and oversee the complete stock take of the chiller and freezer regularly;
- To act in accordance with the Company’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Workplace, Health & Safety (WH&S), and Quality Assurance Programs and Guidelines.
- Monitor staff morale and the general work environment to ensure a happy and productive workplace.
- Ensure all production staff comply with company policies;
Skills required
- Minimum 2 - 5 years of Production Supervisor
- Knowledge of food industry supply chains
- Sound technical knowledge of meat processing
- Relevant qualification and /or experience in Food Processing, Food Technology Food Science, or Meat processing
- HACCP/GMP knowledge.
- Demonstrated high-level skills in the following areas: negotiation, communication, influencing, coaching, relationship management, business, strategic, and project management skills.
