SURTECO Australia is a subsidiary of a 130-year-old German group of companies who specialise in Decorative surfaces and edge banding. SURTECO Australia is involved in the development, design, manufacture, and sale of surface materials such as edges and foils, technical extrusion (profiles) and decorative printing.
Since 1984, SURTECO Australia offers locally manufactured polymer edges and technical profiles produced to German quality standard, besides the wide range of other SURTECO products.
The Role
SURTECO is looking for a Production Supervisor for the night shift to join our team in Arndell Park. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager your responsibility will be to oversee the night production operations ensuring manufacturing output meets Safety, Cost and Quality standards while delivering the production to plan.
The hours will be 10:00pm- 6:00am.
Responsibilities
Coordinate delivery of daily production: Supervise and lead employees on shift with production schedule and ensuring product lead times are maintained by confirming all manufacturing orders are completed as per schedule. Ensure extrusion lines are running to current settings and procedures
Leadership, People Management & Engagement: Train and supervise all employees on shift to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short term and long-term performance goals. Collaborate with Human Resources department, Manufacturing Manager on HR and personnel related areas.
Machinery & Equipment Reliability: Undertake basic machine troubleshooting and work with maintenance team to ensure equipment is in good working order.
Product Quality to standard: Perform regular quality inspections are completed. Complete the correct documentation and quality paperwork, ensuring this is returned at the completion of the shift.
Continuous Improvement: Work in conjunction with the Technical Production Manager to establish procedures. Raise continuous improvement opportunities and work with team to deliver projects.
Safety: Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to including correct PPE is worn and staff are following correct procedure. Apply and promote a good safety culture to all employees in line with SURTECO's policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or Team Leader within manufacturing, plastic extrusion, printing industry or similar industry
- Excellent Customer Service skills – professional phone manner and strong written communication
- Experience with Quality control and management
- A good understanding of manufacturing and the inter-dependency of divisions
- A strong track record of building internal and external relationships
- A positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges
- Good problem Solver
- Good attention to detail
- Understanding of production planning, operation & coordination, OHS, leadership and management
