Biological Therapies (located in Braeside) is a family owned business (since 1989) and they specialise in manufacturing injectable vitamins. They also do liquids and powders but majority of their business is on injectable vitamins.They are looking for Production operators as the business has seen a steady growth over the last several years and they are at a point where they are short staff and the majority of their staff are leaning towards retirement.The daily duties of a Production Operator involves:
- Cleaning and weighing vials
- Labeling
-Conducting QC (quality control checks) on products as well as labels and packaging
-Conducting basic calculations
-Compounding (mixing raw materials)
-Ad hoc cleaning dutiesIt is a sterile manufacturing facility and ALL Production Operators need to gown up wearing full body suits, gloves, hairnet, googles and mask.NO makeup, nail polish, lash extensions are permittedThe manufacturing facility is open from 6am-6pm and the working hours are flexible within those hours (8hr days Monday - Friday).HOWEVER they are ideally looking for candidates who can work the hours of 10am-6pm.The hourly pay is $31.25/hr + Super (11%)Looking to hire 7 Production Technicians who will start of in their packing and labelling section first (~3 months training) If they show potential, they will be moved to their Grade C cleanroom environment. Grade C - basic gowning process but still a full body suit. Grade A and B is basic gowning PLUS an extra layer on top, plus hair and face covers with mask and googles.They are looking for candidates with high level of dexterity, attention to detail, humble, ability to listen and follow instructions.There are a few other special requirements. - Reasonable English - have to understand verbal instructions fully gowned (no face except eyes showing - full mask) in noisy HEPA air environment
- Must be able to start early (between 6am and 7am) or finish late (preferably 6pm - some child care centres shut at 6pm, so if they live close, can leave at 5.45pm) - can not employ those that can only work 9am to 3pm
- Reasonable intelligence, especially for basic maths (can use calculator) but have to understand adding and subtraction, percentages, reconciliations of batch sizes greater than 10,000 units
- Attention to detail
- Humble - no one who wants to be my boss in 2 years
- No make up - happy to work in jeans or track suit (leggings)
- Good hygiene and good housekeeping - clean and tidy workspace
- Can follow instructions exactly
- Good health and good balance, - can learn aseptic gowning
- Flexible, willing, team work attitude
- Nimble fingers to handle small 1mL vials
- No nail polish
- Minimum jewelry (plain wedding ring band is ok, but not few rings with diamonds, or dangling ear ring)
