The Opportunity
The Quality Assurance Production Technician will deliver the effective implementation of and compliance to the systems, products, Food Safety and Quality Culture and processes at Noumi.
Daily operations
- Ensure production, planning and other departments are communicated with and updated on any quality issues likely to impact customer service or delivery of finished goods.
- Deliver ongoing coaching and mentoring in food safety and quality aspects of manufacture such as CCP, RCP, QCP and GMP performance and meaningful management of outcomes.
- Support other QA functions as required including routine release activities, audit program, investigations, document control, hygiene & GMP, laboratory activities and non-conformances.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigation (RCA) as necessary to review production deviations, first time quality misses and emerging trends. Identify and implement long term sustainable solutions to avoid repeat failures in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Lead the investigation of customer and consumer complaints through undertaking continuous improvement methodologies to understand the issues and implement changesto prevent future complaints. Liaisewith the Quality Improvement Lead as appropriate.
Other functions
- Actively participate in daily operational meetings and Operational Excellence program activities to support the site.
- Maintain and monitor existing systems to support internal and external needs as well as identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, costs and accuracy.
- Review and complete routine and project related cleaning verifications, line clearances and provide other production quality support as needed to drive improvement in performance.
What you’ll bring
Knowledge and experience in the below will be highly regarded:
- Education in food science, engineering or related field or significant relevant industry experience
- UHT, Dairy Powder and/or drying experience preferred
- Experience and capability in influencing stakeholders to adopt a positive food safety culture with a continuous quality improvement mindset
- Ability to work autonomously , appropriately prioritise competing demands and be self motivated
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be responsive to organizational contingencies as they arise.
