About this role:
The Professional Development Specialist will work with the Senior Professional Development Specialist to facilitate the implementation and management of the learning and development initiatives across Sirius College. The Professional Development Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the Professional Development Program (PDP), including supporting staff members, maintaining the Professional Development system, liaising with external providers to organise training and education resources.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination and administration of the College’s Professional Development programs.
- Engage with staff across all campuses through various communication channels to promote awareness of Professional Development programs.
- Assist the Senior Professional Development Specialist in drafting and maintaining policies, guidelines and user manuals related to Professional Development initiatives.
- Create written and video content to provide clarity on the Professional Development systems and processes.
- Support staff to reach their SMART goals by tracking their progress, conducting check ins and sourcing individualised learning resources when needed.
- Provide personalised and timely guidance and assistance to staff about the Professional Development systems and processes via phone, email or through face-to-face.
- Maintain the Professional Development software, ensuring accurate data recording and system.
- Collaborate with software companies to constantly improve and update Professional Development systems.
- Collaborate with external providers to organise and facilitate training and education resources for staff members.
- Produce reports as requested by the Senior Professional Development Specialist and/or Director of Human Resources.
- Travel frequently as required to various campuses or external locations for training sessions, meetings or consultations.
- Support annual calibration by scheduling meetings, making logistical arrangements and providing data to the participants prior to the meeting.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Qualifications in Education, Human Resources, Psychology, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff members of all levels.
- Experience in project management and implementing change programs is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and value personal and cultural differences.
- Experience working in an educational environment and understanding of school culture is advantageous.
- Excellent relationship-building, coaching, influencing, and consultancy skills.
- Proficiency in using software systems and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to travel frequently as required for Professional Development activities.
- Unrestricted drivers licence and access to a motor vehicle of good mechanical order.
