Fair Game is a not-for-profit organisation that believes sport and fitness are integral components of a healthy lifestyle. Through the provision of recycled sporting equipment, fitness and health education programs we aim to: reduce the risk of lifestyle related disease, build social cohesion and improve mental well-being. Our beneficiaries include; rural, regional and remote communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, CALD communities and low socio-economic demographics.  

This Program Coordinator role will be responsible for the management and delivery of Fair Game's Recycle & Donate program. The Program Coordinator will join our small and passionate staff team and will assist in overseeing one of Fair Game's core programs. From 2011, Fair Game has been collecting and redistributing pre-loved sports equipment to provide equitable access to healthy lifestyle choices.

The role will include managing a large inventory of sports equipment and a growing donation bin network, working with interns, volunteers and corporate teams to ensure efficient running of the program and building and maintaining partnerships with key program partners and stakeholders to achieve the organisation's mission. 

This position is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of a growing not-for-profit charity to help drive and grow its operations.

  • The position involves 15-22 hours per week with flexible working arrangements and the expectation of occasional weekend work.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Program, logistics and inventory management

  • Manage Fair Game’s growing donation bin network including collection logistics and strategic placement of bins
  • Identify alternative methods of growing equipment donations through schools, clubs, workplaces and events
  • Grow Fair Game’s ‘Be A Sporting Hero’ initiative – encouraging schools to host a free dress up day supporting Fair Game
  • Manage inventory storage within Fair Game HQ
  • Utilise Fair Game’s online stock and ordering system
  • Develop and grow relationships with key partners to facilitate increased donations to beneficiaries
  • Manage end of life waste streams for unusable equipment
  • Produce monthly reports on qualitative and quantitative impact of the Recycle & Donate program

Volunteer Management 

  • Grow Fair Game’s Recycle & Donate internship program
  • Recruit, train and manage interns and one-off volunteers to assist with day to day program operations
  • Supervise corporate volunteering groups and interns 
  • Manage volunteer compliance with Fair Game policies
  • Track volunteer engagement 

Policy

  • Review and draft procedures to ensure sustainable growth of the Recycle & Donate program 

Experience, Capabilities and Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team with flexible hours
  • Experience in managing a project or team
  • Experience in volunteer coordination
  • Demonstrates the values of Fair Game and a passion for the not-for-profit sector
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project planning, time management, problem solving and evaluation skills.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or competence with similar level of software programs 

Remuneration and Hours

Fair Game is supportive of flexible working arrangements and will make this available to the successful candidate. The successful applicant will be required to work 15-22 hours per week. 

Remuneration will be $28-30 per hour (dependent on experience level) plus superannuation.
