About the role – Permanent Full-Time
This is a thrilling opportunity for a positive and passionate individual with outstanding group leadership skills and experience. As a Program Leader, primarily based at Wirraway Homestead in Strathalbyn but working throughout South Australia, you will play a pivotal role in hosting and leading outdoor events.
You will ensure every aspect of the camping experience is seamless for our guests and participants. You will also mentor and support our group facilitators during the events, setting them up for success and providing guidance whenever needed.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Make essential plans and preparations ahead of the camp or event
- Welcome and induct group leaders and guests to the campsite
- Provide leadership and supervision to clients during adventure-based programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery in line with program design requirements and relevant standards
- Ensure the safety of all participants by managing risks effectively
About you:
We are seeking an inspiring adventure programs leader with extensive experience and exceptional interpersonal skills to create engaging experiences for our guests. Renowned for your strong problem-solving abilities, you excel in managing campsite operations adeptly. Your passion for facilitating purposeful and inclusive outdoor activities in a lively and dynamic manner shines through, ensuring every participant enjoys a seamless and memorable adventure.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Certificate IV or higher (preferably Diploma) in Outdoor Recreation or equivalent
- At least three activity specific qualifications related to bush walking, rock-climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, high ropes etc and adequate experience leading on-site and off-site programs undertaking these activities
- Minimum two years' experience in facilitating successful outdoor camping and adventure-based programs and activities
- Working knowledge of outdoor industry risk management practices and standards
- Skilled in actively engaging with participants and managing group dynamics across diverse group sizes
Specific Requirements:
Baptist Care SA is committed to the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable people and as such applicants will be considered in accordance with our safety practices and suitability.
You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:
- Full unrestricted South Australia Driver’s Licence
- Working With Children check
- National Police Clearance
- Training: Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
- Training: Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours may be required
- Travel within South Australia
