Job description

NQ Ummah Care (NQUC) is a charity not for profit organisation based in Townsville for assisting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community to integrate into wider Australian communities. We are building a safe and inclusive culture where our CALD youth men and women are empowered to deliver their best capabilities through NQUC’s youth empowerment programs. Embracing innovation and change, we continually deliver richer and higher quality services to a vibrant, diverse and iconic Townsville municipality. 

We are looking for a Program Manager up to 20hrs/week for conducting a one-year Commonwealth Government-funded program: Strengthening Resilience against Racism and Islamophobia for Safer Townsville Communities. 

Requirements:

  • Experience in conducting multicultural youth programs
  • Effective communication with CALD youth, elders and wider Australian community
  • Ability to network with local leaders’ offices (MPs, Mayor) and CALD agencies
  • Ability to respect diverse cultures and faiths
  • Ability to complete duties on time
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful situations
  • Ability to connect with wider communities on social and conventional media
  • Holding principle of multiculturalism
  • Easy going and positive attitude in conducting duties
  • Computer/IT literacy 
  • Social work student or graduate of social work would be an added advantage

Key responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates monthly youth workshops and two 6-monthly Open Days at the Townsville mosque
  2. Coordinates with Townsville Islamic Society President, Imam and NQUC in conducting the Strengthening Resilience against Racism and Islamophobia program
  3. Posting the workshop and Open Days’ programs onto Social media
  4. Promoting the program within the local community
  5. Providing program’s progress reports and milestone deliverables
  6. Driving marketing and advertising campaigns for the program
  7. Undertakes any other responsibilities assigned by NQUC CEO/Director
