Your new company is a well established and respected community services organisation in Townsville that offers a range of programs to support vulnerable members of our community. They're currently seeking an experienced Program Manager with a background in Child Safety or Family Services to oversee an important program in the local community.
Your new role
Your new role will report to the Operations Manager and oversee a team of dedicated staff. Your duties include (but are not limited to):
- Manage all residential care services, ensuring compliance with associated requirements.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to deliver effective services that meet evolving statutory needs and funding models.
- Maintain high standards of care, addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of children in the services.
- Lead and manage the residential care services team (including volunteers), fostering a safe and respectful work environment.
- Develop and manage rosters, ensuring adequate staffing levels and after-hours on-call services.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and funding requirements, promote high-functioning programs, and achieve organisational standards.
- Develop and implement significant specialised policies, manuals and projects as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood, or related field - preferred but not essential
- Proven track record in managing child-focused residential and day care facilities.
- Significant knowledge of child protection and family support protocols and legislation.
- Skills in using appropriate techniques for children experiencing trauma.
- Strong cultural awareness and understanding of Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander peoples
