Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Owning the AI Strategy operations end-to-end: You take charge and ensure we have built cadences and infrastructure that are essential to building operational excellence and hitting goals. You'll support tracking initiatives, run seasonal planning processes, assist with company-wide product development adherences and constantly iterate on this as Canva grows. You will also coordinate and facilitate meetings, defining objectives, purpose and agendas, and constantly looking for ways to improve the operational cadence of the program.
- Communicating optimally to support teams: You are proactive in wrangling all the parts of the AI strategy, ensuring it adheres to best practices for communication, documentation & wider context sharing. You will ensure concerns are anticipated and raised early to appropriate owners in order to resolve issues that prevent progress.
- Proactively driving initiatives forward: Partnering with leads and teams to keep seasonal goals on track by coordinating and tracking timelines, milestones, and statuses, calling out issues as needed. You'll be working across big picture initiatives with the ability to break assignments down into manageable efforts, to be tracked and delivered.
- Being the Glue of the Team: Coordinating events across the strategy, as well wrangling representatives and content from the group for company-wide events, coordinating and arranging celebrations & events for the team. You help us recognise the hard work of those working on the strategy, and pull together amazing celebrations when we hit those Crazy Big Goals.
- Forecasting and predicting emerging opportunities: In time, and working with the AI Leadership, you will forecast and anticipate emerging opportunities across the program, and preemptively work on solutions, constantly looking for areas to improve. You will be a major connector across the AI Leadership team.
- Canva AI Vision: Work alongside the leads in the space to drive cross company discovery, strategy, vision and goal setting. This includes, but is not limited to, working alongside research and design on vision decks, aligning product leadership on our next big bets and guiding sessions with founders on the future of AI at Canva.
- Supporting our Head of AI on special AI projects: Partnering with Canva's Subject matter expert on all things AI. They are frequently leading a range of projects and initiatives that may eventuate into company goals and we would love this role to be a strategic partner in crime on these projects.
You're probably a match if
- You have proven experience in Program or Project Management role, or similar within the start/ scale up tech environment, and ideally have had experience working with product, engineering and design teams
- You have experience in cross functional delivery, and have built an understanding of how large programs of work can come together to deliver a roadmap of work.
- You can bridge strategy and operations. This role will be execution focused, but a successful candidate will be able to understand the overarching strategy and decipher what needs to happen within the strategy to help execute the work, day to day.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills - and can influence across the business to align different parties on what we're working towards, particularly when that is new or feels hard.
- You have the ability to prioritise, manage and track multiple projects simultaneously and are able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- You are truly self-motivated with a desire to constantly learn, develop and grow an inaugural role to build out the AI specialty
- You are able to build relationships and rapport fast and constantly expand your internal networks
About the team
This role is part of the Program Management team here at Canva, where Canvanauts focus on various different programs across our business operations. Canva's Operations teams are the ones laying the foundations, expertly building and refining processes and keeping everything ticking over smoothly. Our mission is to build and optimise ways of working to empower Canvanauts around the world to achieve Canva's mission, strategy & goals as effectively as possible.
