The Opportunity
The Program Manager – Targeted Supports role is part of the leadership team within the Child, Youth, and Families program. You will provide oversight of Berry Street’s Targeted Care Packages (TCP) and the Our House Program across the South East Victorian region. TCP supports young people to live in alternative living arrangements other than residential care or to prevent their entry into residential care. These packages are tailored to the individual needs of the young person and include both psychosocial and financial support.
In this role, you will manage programs designed to assist children and young people in recovering from trauma, preventing further escalation, and promoting improved wellbeing, health, and stability. Additionally, you will oversee the Our House day respite program for children referred by Child Protection while awaiting placement in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to the Senior Manager, Child, Youth & Families.
- Manage a diverse team, providing supervision and promoting the functions of TCP and Our House.
- Lead the relationship with the funder concerning TCPs.
- Monitor and review TCPs, including all components such as case management, support, and financial aspects.
- Provide oversight of carer reviews and annual reviews in conjunction with management.
- Establish and maintain quality support services for young people.
- Represent Berry Street at local community program meetings and forums.
- Participate in regional and organisational strategic planning and development.
- Ensure the smooth operation of programs like Community Connections, L2P, ACFE, Reconnect, and GOALS.
About You
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Experience in the child, youth, and families sector, particularly in education and youth transitional support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality programs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to emerging needs and opportunities.
