As an integral member of the Distributed Energy Business unit, you will work closely with the General Manager – New Energy across Virtual Power Plant (VPP) operations to deliver multiple value streams across FCAS, energy and potential network support services.
Responsibilities
- Developing new and innovative data management and governance concepts and solutions, improving data processes, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing technical advice
- Perform analysis related to the development of energy retail products for the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform
- Provide advice towards the optimisation of and overall improvements to data quality, and the delivery of projects to meet planned outputs
- Model, simulate and analyse economic elements of VPP projects and external projects for Distributed Energy Resources including residential battery storage systems, solar generation systems, EVs and industrial scale storage systems
- Frequently test all aspects of sites, systems, processes to identify and rectify issues ahead of dispatches
- Develop and implement specialised toolsets to harness the capability built within the new energy business division to exploit self-serve automation for benefit realisation
- Manage, coordinate and support projects, consultants, and data related technical work across the broader business
- Tertiary qualifications in STEM or Business-related discipline
- 8+ years’ extensive technical experience in the field of data analysis
- Familiarity with the energy ecosystem, Australian electricity markets, DER landscape
- Experience in querying/data extraction including experience working with both structured and unstructured data, and combining complex datasets from disparate sources for analysis
- Extensive data analysis experience, including experience using a range of statistical models, methods and tools, machine learning, visual report writing, data modelling
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic analysis on complex topics, recognise opportunities and provide clear and concise insights to support strategic decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment is an advantage
