About the role
The Commercial Transactions branch conducts feasibility studies, manages commercial transactions and implements solutions aimed at fostering positive outcomes for the Gold Coast. We are responsible for providing services to manage these key city economic projects from concept through to implementation and completion.
The high-profile nature of the proposals and projects we are involved in makes this an exciting environment, with complex problems to solve and challenging deadlines to meet. Examples of projects that the team have recently been involved in include:
- Home of the Arts (HOTA) - Future Stages Assessment
- HOTA Digital Education, Production and Screen Facility
- Springbrook Cableway Prefeasibility
- Screen Industry Project - Yatala
- Gold Coast Dive Attraction
- Disaster and Emergency Management Centre
In this role, you will be responsible for Project and commercial transaction management, including representing the City in negotiations, managing tender processes and ensuring project ideas and concepts are researched and developed into viable project proposals.

We're looking for people who have:
- Qualifications in relevant field (Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning or Project Management
- A demonstrated ability to articulate a vision and encourage others to assist and support that vision to realisation clearly and influentially
- Excellent consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence portfolio, program and project outcomes
- Experience in the preparation of report, value propositions, consultancy briefs, community consultation, estimates and justifications for budget proposals
- Experience in project management with the ability to develop, coordinate and manage complex projects
