Job description
An opportunity has become available for a switched on Project Assistant with contract administration experience in the construction industry, to join our team.
Your Profile
- Ideally, you will have at least 2 years’ experience doing Contracts Administration in the construction industry.
- You will also need to have the ambition to grow into a Project Manager down the track.
- Strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
- You will have a positive, can do, attitude.
- You are self-motivated.
- Own car and current NSW driver’s licence.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting Manager and Office Administrator.
- Assist in the preparation of our tender submissions which will include compilation of tender supporting documentation and quotation / tender pricing submissions to ensure high quality submissions that meet client and group specifications.
- Assisting with overall document control for assigned projects.
- Interpreting working drawings and converting to data.
- Preparing SWMS.
- Monitor & report project progress.
- Identify & report potential risks to implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Assist in planning, updating, scheduling, tracking, and reporting of budgets and forecasts.
- Provide regular project updates and reports.
- Ensuring all project documents are saved and maintained in our system.
- Understanding of relevant industry codes & standards.
- Apply industry standards and protocols.
- Ensure all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements.
- Ensure quality standards are met on all projects.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Process progress claims, variations, and disputes.
- Build positive relationships with clients.
- Attending project sites and meeting with external stakeholders where required.
Skills Required:
- Excellent computer and mathematical skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project; particularly in Excel.
- Experience in a similar role preferably within the construction industry.
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read plans, and understanding specifications advantageous.
- Accuracy and a strong attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment but also be driven to work autonomously.
- Reliable, flexible, and dependable.
- Fluency in English and full working rights in Australia are mandatory.
