The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, talented and energised Project Controller to join a leading infrastructure consultancy and contribute to the growth and development of a business with a reputation for technical excellence and strong client relationships.
We are looking for candidates with a passion for innovation and providing innovative problem-solving that will add value to SMEC. The successful incumbent shall be highly productive in their day to day tasks and also strive to align themselves and their work ethic to our company values.
As a Project Controller you will assist and support Project Managers with end to end project controls requirements in areas including project planning, scheduling, cost controls, cost estimating, budget planning, earned value management and project close out activities.
Key Responsibilities
With experience in major infrastructure projects your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist and support Project Manager in planning, scheduling, cost control, estimating, budgeting forecasting and project close out / lesson learnt activities
- Assisting with project reporting requirements and month end and financial year end close reporting.
- Aid in Project Management and /or project governance of projects. Be available to work on a range of SMEC projects/programs to apply Project Control, Scheduling, Financial and Commercial Management.
- A project management background is preferred and experience in scheduling and project control is key.
- Training in a recognised project management methodology (PMP, PMI, Agile, etc.) will be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Any experience with Project Management Systems advantageous.
