Accommodation Australia (AA) is the peak industry body on a national basis for the Hotel Accommodation sector. It is a new body that has been formed as a result of two previous separate organisations merging to become the AA. AA is a division of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA).
The AA HQ is based in their Sydney office, but they work on a national basis in all states and territories.
The Project
AA has been awarded a significant grant from the Commonwealth Government which has the purpose of developing and operating a “Hospitality, Tourism and Travel Employment and Skills Platform”. The purpose of the grant is to create a portal that works as a conduit to the Visitor economy with a focus on Hospitality, Tourism and Travel within the visitor economy. The main function of the portal is to attract people to these sectors and show case what the industries have to offer under 4 main pillars being Attract, Educate, Inform and Network.
The Governance Structure of the project is critical to its success and consists of a Steering (Sub)Committee, Advisory Committee and Project Core Working Group.
The Role
The Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager and work closely with the Project Core Working Group.
The day to day of the Project Coordinator will be monitoring and assisting the delivery and milestones of the project and as required under the grant agreement. As the Project Coordinator you will take on the responsibility to deliver on the requirements of the commonwealth grant awarded to AA and support the project through the first two years. This is a project of significance for the hotel/hospitality/tourism industries.
Responsibilities
1) Progress Monitoring: Track project progress against established milestones and deliverables. Regularly discuss and contribute to updates project status, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned to Project Manager and Core Project Working Group.
2) Financial Monitoring: Track project budget, including expenses and costs.
3) Change Management: Track and monitor events that lead to changes in project scope, objectives, or requirements. Work with the project manager to initiate and monitor change management processes to minimise disruptions and maintain project momentum.
4) Stakeholder Management: Assist the Project Manager with information and coordination of relevant internal & external stakeholders, such as tourism boards, Austrade authorities, project team members, community representatives, and beneficiaries, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
5) Risk Management: Identifying and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle, escalating as and when appropriate.
6) Fraud Prevention: Ensuring that team members and vendors do not engage in any fraud in relation to the program. If the PC or PM becomes aware of any fraud it should be raised to the CEO immediately.
7) Quality Control: Maintain quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet specified standards and comply with Austrade requirements.
8) Documentation: Assist in maintaining and filing accurate project documentation, including contracts, reports, financial records, and other required documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
9) Content management: The Project Coordinator will be responsible for Content Management for the project, including quality assurance.
10) Relationship management: Create and maintain strong relationships with state stakeholders, content partners and the Project Core Working Group.

Remuneration
Salary per year $80,000 + statutory superannuation (as it is contacted for two and a half years no review of salary will be available in the contracted period)
Some after-hours attendance at events will be required. This is a full-time position, and it will include statutory full-time entitlements.
