The Capital Program Department is one of three teams in Alfred Health's Strategy and Planning Division, along with Planning and Partnerships and Engineering Infrastructure. The Capital Program Department is responsible for the replacement and/or refurbishment of existing facilities/infrastructure and new capital developments across Alfred Health on all projects valued at greater than $100K.
Position Summary
The Project Design Manager, Capital Program has the responsibility for the effective scoping and design of Capital Program projects across Alfred Health (AH), inclusive of:
- Leadership: Leadership to develop and administer effective and efficient processes that enhance control of the front-end of Capital Program outcomes, as well as benefits evaluation at project completion.
- Stakeholder Management and Advice: Build and maintain relationships to enable management of external and internal capital program stakeholders, facilitating robust project specifications and advice for projects to progress to readiness for market and delivery and benefits realisation.
- Project Specification and Integration: Identifies and documents robust project specifications, specifically a detailed description of AH requirements and/or assessment of requirements, that deliver optimum integration of capital work programs into existing AH infrastructure and hospital operations.
- Benefits Capture and Evaluation: Build tools and processes to capture benefits and evaluate outcomes achieved at a program and project level, creating insights that will drive improved delivery outcomes of future capital projects.
- Quality, Safety and Risk Management: Display, apply and foster an understanding of Project teams and staff responsibility for patient safety, quality & risk management and contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or Certifications in a related discipline of Benefits Mapping and Evaluation, Investment Logic Mapping, Program Management and Project Management and/or Building Construction Certification.
- Desirable 7+ years' experience scoping and budgeting Building Infrastructure Programs of Work exceeding $5 million Total Construction Cost (T.C.C.)
- Post Graduate qualifications in Health Services Management, Project Management and/or Business Management.
- Microsoft Project Certification and/or advanced skills.
