Project Engineer

The Opportunity:
  
Due to the expansion in their Project Pipeline , an industry leader in Civil and Bulk Earthworks has partnered with Techforce Personnel to fill their growing project needs. Our Partner is looking for a Site/Project Engineer with proven experience across the Civil space, with a background in Roadworks, Bulk Earthworks, Asphalting, Tailings, and Concreting background looking for a position in the Mining sector.

Job Responsibilities:  
  
As a Site Engineer/ Project Engineer, you will need to have proven experience and a background in the following: Budget Management, Engineering Works, Compliance Management, Contracts and Commercial understanding, QA/QC,as well as Project Controls. 
  
Additional responsibilities will include:  

• Execute and prioritise tasks to facilitate high-quality project delivery works, drive superior commercial and safety outcomes and achieve project milestones on schedule and on budget.
• Support project operations to develop and implement the operational plans, systems, and procedures for the pipelined civil works in accordance with the strategic plan and KPIs.
• Drive consistent, progress reporting to manage financial deliverables while also being on top of upcoming Tenders, Variation and Progress claims to ensure project delivers on time.
• Ensuring progress and safety and overseeing quality control testing throughout the project’s duration.
• Contribute to project risk and opportunity management in to identify, control and mitigate risks to an acceptable level.

Ideally, you will bring the following skills, experience, and attributes:

• 2-5 years' proven experience in either a Project or Site based  Engineering Capacity, ideally within the mining industry.
• Relevant Engineering Qualification.
• Strong Leadership/Communication skills with the ability to manage, supervise, direct and mentor staff and contractors.
• Blue / White Card
• Commercial background, with experience in contracts, budgeting, tendering and revenue forecasting and reporting.
