About the Opportunity…..
Reporting to our Project Manager, we are looking for a Project Engineer to be part of our integrated project team to deliver interesting and exciting Projects, assisting to deliver projects on time and to our customer expectation and satisfaction. Working with our workshop providing technical support and then, follow to site either responsible for the work or with our Project Manager, depending on the size of the project to be part of the installation and commissioning team, dealing with the technical, quality and client relationship.
You will be assisting with the preparation client proposals, pricing/estimating, technical document preparation, Quality plan/ITP’s, technical query clarifications, site installation technical support, preparation of procurement/construction schedules and preparation of weekly/monthly reports.
When the Project Engineer has spare time, you will provide technical support to our workshop and innovation projects. With the recent expansion into the Eastern Region of Australia, resulting in future continued business growth, this role will develop and grow into working fulltime on project work.
You will be involved in the entire project development, from concept, providing the proposal to the customer, dealing with the factory during overseas manufacture, assembly in our workshop, transport to site, installation and commissioning onsite; at times you will be expected to spend short periods on remote sites.
Position Description…..
For External Projects:
- Work with the Project Manager to prepare tender proposals.
- Responsible for Vendor Drawings, Data Requirements (VDDR), document control and Quality Assurance, depending on customer requirements.
- Look after dealing with technical queries and clarifications to the customer.
- Provide support during the scheduling and planning of the overall project, including planning for mobilisation to site, onsite assembly and commissioning requirements including onsite labour, equipment, materials, consumables, technical support, and supervision.
- Document control, produce CAD and/or DXF files.
- Work with the Project Manager to develop project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, site specific safety management plan, technical information for equipment, project methodology plan.
- Assist the Project Manager with resolving warranty issues or plant modifications, working closely with customers and equipment manufacturers.
- Assist the Project Manager to ensure all statutory and legislative requirements, engineering standards, customer site specific requirements and safety procedures are complied with.
For Internal Projects and Workshop Process Improvements:
- Assist in progressing drawing backlog and standardising drawings across the Company.
- Provide technical support for the workshop as required.
- Assist in compiling and submission of warranty claims to equipment manufacturers.
- Work on internal process improvements such as IAuditor, warranty, technical reporting, SOS analysis, telematics analysis and use, working towards system improvements.
About You…..
Qualifications/Education/Licences:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Full unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s License.
- Previous experience in mineral processing and bulk material handing highly desirable.
Experience:
- A minimum 3 years post-graduate mechanical engineering experience, preferably with mobile and fixed plant mineral processing and bulk material handling equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or similar.
Knowledge and Behaviours:
- Have strong personal commitment to the importance of safety.
- Customer and solution focused.
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously.
- Strong analytical skills to problem solving and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise work schedules.
- Able to prioritise workload and work under pressure at times and hold others accountable to meet commitments, this is a hands-on role.
- Excellent computer literacy skills, including Office Suite and previous experience using Pronto an advantage.
