About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing a diverse range of projects in Ingleburn depot. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects involving design and installation of the gas equipment, site development and major maintenance projects. You will however have a varied role working with Supagas’ technical and operation teams as well as site contractors on other projects. This fulltime role is based in Sydney, Ingleburn.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Develop project plans including scope of work, schedule, and budget.
- Develop comprehensive P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings, equipment general arrangement plans (GA), site layouts and other application design documents to ensure suitability and compliance.
- Interface with local council and regulatory bodies including Department of Planning to obtain necessary approvals.
- Liaise with internal and external designers to develop design and construction drawings.
- Supervise and coordinate on-site activities, ensuring that projects adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure that projects comply with industry-specific standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all contractors operate with all Supagas safety rules and permits.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve quality issues, employing industry best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project internal and external stakeholders, HSEQ team, contractors, and site manager.
- Provide regular project updates and technical reports to keep stakeholders informed and ensure alignment on project goals.
- Identify potential risks, such as technical and safety challenges, and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Supervise the progress of projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Identify potential challenges and develop proactive solutions to overcome them.
- Use the Management of Change (MOC) & Ready for Start-up Review (RFSR) for all projects.
- Ensure all contractors operate with all Supagas safety rules and permits. Upkeep and monitoring of the on-site permit system.
Key Skills and Experience:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer, preferably in the gas industries and/or Major Hazard Facilities (MHF).
- Knowledge of construction, LPG and Industrial gas properties, pipeline and vessel installations, P&ID`s, regulatory matters, and standards are highly regarded.
- Have a clear understanding of the Ingleburn MHF Safety Case and its requirements and relationship with the IMS.
- Ability to lead and manage different engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivated and dedicated to achieving project goals.
- Must have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software packages.
