We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with excellent customer service skills to join our Brisbane team.
You must have the ability to resolve a range of issues for our diverse customer base across a range of technologies, while delivering a personal touch.
This role is a mix of pre-sales, technical project management and project delivery - supporting our Managed Services customer base.
About the Role
As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for building your own day around client meetings, project scoping & delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
You will focus on pre-sales, designing, planning and deployment of infrastructure projects for our QLD and National clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with relevant stakeholders to design solutions using the IT&C product/service stack (Microsoft Cloud/Azure, Sophos, Datto, HPE, Aruba)
- Provide pre-sales design, consulting and assistance to Technical Account Managers and Sales team
- In collaboration with key team members, ensure the project delivers a smooth transition to front-line and operational support teams so that impacts to service delivery and other BAU activities are minimised
- Build project plans, manage and deliver projects
- Final (L3) support escalation point for client requests and support team
- Providing all levels of support services via ConnectWise Manage PSA & RMM Systems
- Document clients' infrastructure and business systems in ITGlue
- Train & mentor IT&C Group Support and Project team (training through ticket escalation)
- Maintaining vendor certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Sophos, Datto - to name a few)
Required Skills
- Proven experience in managing the end-to-end delivery of concurrent complex IT projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource management
- Proven experience migrating business systems to the Microsoft 365/Azure ecosystem
- Proven experience managing people/teams for the purpose of project delivery
- Previous experience in an MSP project delivery role is essential (min. 5 years)
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem (setup of new tenants, migration projects, etc)
- Microsoft Azure infrastructure (design and deployment)
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Autopilot (design and deployment)
- Windows Server (design and deployment)
- High-level understanding of Networking Technologies (DHCP/DNS/LAN/VLAN/WLAN/WAN)
- Experience with Antivirus/XDR Technologies (Sophos/Microsoft Defender XDR desirable)
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience with ConnectWise PSA/RMM/Project setup preferred
- Ability to build team culture focused on a successful delivery
Personal Attributes
- A valid QLD driver’s license and your own roadworthy vehicle
- Current Microsoft 365/Azure certifications - required
- Formal project management accreditation/qualification – desirable
- Exceptional communication and proven stakeholder management experience
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management skills and strong project management discipline
