About The Opportunity
As a Project Engineer within Project Planning and Design, you will work to provide effective and efficient project management services to ensure delivery of the Council’s Capital Works. This Full Time, Ongoing position will perform essential functions across Capital Works projects and liaise with key stakeholders, community groups, Government Departments and other agencies.
The role will be responsible for effective and efficient project management and supervision of allocated construction projects.
Your Contribution To Our Team
Lead and/or assist with the preparation of project plans and documentation as they relate to Capital Works projects;
- Ensure all relevant permits and approvals are obtained prior to commencement of works
- Undertake tender evaluations within collaboration with the Procurement team.
- Monitor all aspects of contractor performance in the delivery of Council projects
- Managing project budgets and resources.
- Provide advice to and seek the input of stakeholders and community groups with respect to the development of projects for implementation.
What We're Looking For (Key Selection Criteria)
- Relevant qualification (BEng) with substantial experience in managing infrastructure projects.
- Experience in contractor site supervision and management.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, negotiating and report writing skills.
- Good understanding of relevant I.T applications.
- Excellent time management skills.
- A current, valid Victorian driver’s license
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical and hold a National Police Check. Applicants for this position must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
